Sorry things have been so quiet here this past few weeks! We’ve all been either sick or running around like crazy! Who knew some snow on the ground and colder weather would cause us to become so busy-busy!
But its raining today, the snow is gone and I realized I have been neglecting my blog and the countdown!!
Since Christmas is less than a month away (EEK!) here are some excellent last minute gifts that you can make yourself and are suitable for all budgets!!
I am sitting here sipping some tea while nursing a headache and enjoying a bit of the sunshine between the gloomy clouds and rain today. This passed weekend was the time change, so we have lost lots of sleep. Being a parent sometimes has its pitfalls, sleeping is one of them. I miss sleep.
This post is combining the last two weeks because, well, Mom brain and Mom duties sometimes blogging challenging.
In honor of that, I am going to share some fun gift ideas that you can make for your kiddos this year!
Its been awhile since I have just ‘written’ out a blog post so, since its well over due, here is whats been going on in the W.E.S work shop lately!
I have been spinning a lot, and knitting. With Christmas creeping up fast I am feeling the panic to get things done. But with a bad case of ‘Projectstartitis’ I keep starting new things before finishing others, adding to my stress! Ah!
This week I have decided to catch up on some those projects to get it under control since there is only 8 weeks left till the big day and I need to have all gifts done early enough to ship them!
Things I have been spinning are some super chunky holiday themed yarn.
I haven’t had a ton of motivation to sew, but I spent some time upcycling some wool sweaters into some super cozy wool longies and shorties (Diaper covers) for my sister who is cloth diapering. I still have so much material left over, but not big enough pieces for larger covers, so I might have to make some smaller ones or use them up and make some dryer balls. Either way I plan on doing a little tutorial on how I made these in the New Year. So you’ll have to stay tuned for that!
Not sure what I am going to do with the rest of it. Until then, they sit in a bin in my dining room (I should really put them away somewhere else :S )
I’ve also been working on a pair of socks with some custom dyed yarn for my nephew, he requested blue and red socks, so I am attempting to make it happen. So far I have one sock done but no photos.
Other things I have on the go for the holidays is the Antler Cardigan for the kiddo in my worsted weight yarn in the color Canadiana, I’ll have to dye more of that now but its turning out beautifully.
If you don’t already follow my on Instagram, please do! I share lots of the happenings on there, lots of photos of projects and upcoming goodies. This weeks shop update is going to include a big batch of project bags, hats and mittens.
